We are an unplugged family. My husband, daughters and I like to travel to places that brim with natural beauty, history and culture. We enjoy having authentic experiences, chatting with local folks in order to get to know our destination and getting off the beaten track a bit during our adventures. Any getaway that allows us to engage with both the region and with one another while taking a break from the frenetic pace of daily life has a place on our list.
Given these parameters, it might be hard to imagine how a visiting a theme park could mesh with our travel philosophy. Yet part of that philosophy includes balance. As with everything in life, incorporating moderation into the picture is important. We spend plenty of our vacation time on unplugged activities–hiking, biking, skiing, kayaking, partaking in the arts, trying new foods–and relish these types of experiences. Still, I’m the first one to admit that I am a sucker for Disney World and that I wholeheartedly believe that there is plenty of authenticity to be had while enjoying a bit of man made magic!
This Wednesday evening from 9 – 10 pm EST I’m teaming up once again with the folks at Experience Kissimmee to talk about all the ways you can Kiss Cold Away while having tons of fun in the world class Kissimmee area theme parks. Joining us this time are two of my favorite writers, Sue Rodman of Field Trips with Sue and Carter Gaddis of DadScribe–both of whom have lots of great tips for visiting the parks with family in tow.
Plus, during the party we’ll be giving away four Boxes of Sunshine that include plenty of warm-weather goodies to help you to kiss the cold away and get ready for spring.
So RSVP in the Rafflecopter box below with your twitter handle to join the fun and to be eligible to win your very own Box of Sunshine!
And after you enter the party giveaway, be sure to try your luck at the Kiss Cold Away sweepstakes for the chance to win a fabulous Florida family getaway that includes:
